The Restoration (God Loves Me)

Where I met God

Restoring a house made of bricks and stones

The Almighty One bringing life to my flesh and bones

The soul of the house was as dead as can be

Nothing could be truer than the state of me

Left to wallow in an old state of disrepair

A life lived without God, full of despair

Unwanted and left to its own devices

Unwanted and left to my own devices

Then someone stepped in and hatched a plan

From eternity past, Jesus, the God-man

Removing the old was the first thing to do

Old ways of me seemed stuck like glue

Preparing the place to make all things new

The way He would do it He always knew

Every surface, every room to touch

A never-ending task, the Holy Spirit knew as much

All the walls, plastered through and through

Scripture is clear. He makes all things new

New flooring and lights, better to see

In God’s own image, He is making me

It’s painful for me; a mistake I made needs rectifying

It’s painful for me. Sanctification is purifying

At times, it can be hard to the core

At times, it can be hard to the core

Looking back, seeing the changes I’ve made

Looking ahead seeing the changes God will make

The finishing touches yet to be done

It’s a never-ending project, but God loves this one.
